It is time we focus on our amazing members! Here is the first of many people we give you the inside scoop on as to how training at Temenos and adopting a healthy lifestyle has changed their life! For those of you that don’t know our 2016 award winner of “Person that sweats and grunts the most”, it’s CLAUDE HURTUBISE !
Question: How long have you been doing CrossFit?
Claude: Nearly two and half years!
Question: Since starting CrossFit or adapting an active lifestyle what are some positive changes you have seen in your life?
Claude: Increased strength and stamina, muscle mass (which Lisa likes!) My diet has improved and I generally feel better both physically and mentally. I used to have limited friends and support being away from Ottawa. Crossfit has given me an awesome network of friends. Our gym is like an extended family full of great people. And I met Lisa!!
Question: What do you do with your time when you’re not working out (what do you mean, you have a life outside of the gym?!)
Claude: I work a lot during the school year. I run a scotch club, play video games for stress release, and like to motorcycle tour in the summer. Lisa’s social life also keeps me busy.
Question: In the next year what is one personal and one physical goal you wish to achieve?
Claude: I strive to be a better person in general which only comes from surrounding yourself around good people. I’m naturally cynical and an introvert, so I’m working on becoming more comfortable in social settings.
Physically, I’m still working on getting stronger and most of all, more supple. I guess, the elusive muscle up would be nice before I die.
Question: What class and how many times a week do you come to Temenos Athletics?
Claude: I haven’t been participating in many classes lately, but I average 5 times per week at the gym. My favorite time is 9am.
Question: What is your favourite indulgence meal?
Claude: Rib Eye steak with blue cheese, garlic shrimp, baked potato with sour cream, steamed broccoli. Death-row meal!
