Today is Claude Hurtubise’s birthday (a.k.a Klaus). Claude has been a member at Temenos for several years, and has been incredibly helpful throughout that time. He is a kind and generous person, who has a passion for strength and strongman style training. In fact, he built much of the strongman equipment we have in our gym!

Claude has changed so much since the time him and I first met. He’s now one of the strongest members of our gym, but all of that strength is a result of the work he has put in over the last few years.

Claude turns 50 today, and his birthday should be a reminder of two things. First, age is not an excuse for how fit you can be/become, and second, you can start at anytime and anyplace in your life, and completely remake who you are and what you are capable of.

Well done Klaus, and happy lifting today!

Warm up:

3 rounds:
200m run
30 sec bar hang (alternating hollow and superman position every 5 sec)
10 hip bridges
30 sec Handstand hold

Conditioning:

“Strongman”

4 different AMRAPS. Partner 1 works (the first movement) while Partner 2 is holding (the second movement). Score is the distance moved in 50 ft increments of the first movement. All movement must stop once partner 2 stops holding, and can resume once that partner begins holding again. Partners can switch at any time.
