Here’s to two awesome members of our tribe:
Sarah and Jen.
Both of these awesome ladies have birthday’s this weekend (Sarah: Dec 1st, Jen: Dec 3rd) so we are going to do a combo birthday workout, since birthday workouts have become some what of a tradition for us now.
First, Sarah. She is an irreplaceable member of our coaching team, our nutrition expert, and responsible for planning and orchestrating a majority of our events. She preaches balance between healthy eating, exercise, and enjoyment of life’s indulgences, and truly embodies it. Of all our coaches Sarah may well be the best example of a truly balanced lifestyle, and has helped all of us in one way or another find our own balance points. I’d have to say that my favorite part about taking one of Sarah’s classes is her enthusiasm. She genuinely gets excited when she sees one of us get a PR, achieve a goal, or even just doing well at a particular exercise. That type of excitement comes from a place of deep care for the people around her, and its something she does not only in the gym, but in the rest of her life aswell.
Next, Jen. She is a great example of how a patient and mindful training practice can lead to spectacular progress. Jen truly leaves her ego at the door when she shows up to train, and does an excellent job of listening to her body, but at the same time pushing the boundaries of what she is capable of. Over time that discipline has allowed her to progress her skills far beyond who she was when she first walked through our door. She’s also one of the most selfless people I know. If any of you have ever been to Jen and James’ home for a party of any kind, you’ll know what I mean. She does all that she can to make sure her guests are happy and well fed, despite how obnoxious or intoxicated we may be, and she never complains.
Happy Birthday to both of you, and just try and keep in mind all the nice things I’ve said about them here, when you are suffering through their workout tomorrow and cursing their names.
